Auf die Plätze, fertig, los! Eins, zwei, drei!
At Mount Waverley North we launch into German from the very first week of school. Each class has a sixty minute session every week and topics range from the colours and number words, to favourite foods including fruits and vegetables, through to the human skeleton and European geography. Many of our students continue with German at secondary school as it is one of the languages offered at neighbouring secondary colleges.
Bastian is our German mascot and he takes part in many activities in the German classroom.
A typical German class includes listening to a story, singing songs, saying verses, reading aloud or along with the listening posts, puzzles, bingo, watching Muzzy or Mausi and completing writing tasks.
Computer tasks are integrated into most lessons and can include on-line activities, quizzes or animated stories.
