Level 2 consists of students in both grades 1 and 2 and allows for growth over a 2 year period. During this time we maintain a strong focus on both Literacy and Numeracy. The teachers of Level 2 cater for the students’ individual differences and learning styles by providing many open-ended tasks. Throughout this level there is a focus on developing problem solving skills as well as thinking skills Students are encouraged to work both independently and in groups.

We provide a newsletter to our parents each term outlining our curriculum focus in each area of the curriculum and special events/dates relevant to the level 2 students. These are attached to this page.
The students enjoy participating in Integrated Studies in Level 2 and in learning about the current topic which the teachers deliver in hands-on and exciting ways. This year the students have really enjoyed learning about themselves and their community throughout first term. This topic also included going on a community walk and a picnic at a local reserve.
TERM 2
The Level 2 students enjoyed learning about the environment and ways they can help look after the environment during Term 2. We went on a very interesting excursion to CERES Environment Park and the students completed 4 activities, including:

Level 2 students and teachers are looking forward to our fun and exciting Integrated Studies topic in Term 3. Our topic is titled “Let Me Entertain You” and involves the students investigating a variety of forms of entertainment both past and present. They see how and why different types of entertainment were popular at different periods of time as well as why entertainment and leisure activities are important to them. Consideration is also given to ways in which students can contribute to the entertainment of others as an example of how entertainment requires both performers and an audience. Entertainment is both an active and a passive activity. During the term we will be exploring fairytales as well as circus activities and skills.
