National Sorry Day & National Reconciliation Week

On Thursday 26th May, we acknowledged National Sorry Day, a day to commemorate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who were forcibly removed from their families.

This week is National Reconciliation Week, a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. This year’s theme ‘Be Brave. Make Change’ is a challenge to us all to Be Brave and tackle the unfinished business of reconciliation so we can Make Change for all.

At MWNPS this week, students and staff have explored the theme ‘Be Brave. Make Change’ through a range of activities and conversations that help us all understand the role we can play in achieving reconciliation. We are proud of the way our students have engaged in this learning.
