Sports Program

Mount Waverley North Primary School has a proud tradition of excellence on the sporting field. In addition to our weekly Physical Education program, students are provided with the opportunity to engage in a range of fitness activities, team and individual sports, and opportunities to develop their sporting skills, with a focus on achieving personal best.

Fitness Club
Fitness Club runs once a week, encouraging all students to improve their fitness levels through a range of movement activities and games. Fitness Club utilises both the oval and court spaces to provide different challenges to all ages.

Interschool Sport
The school Interschool Sport program allows all Years 5 & 6 students to compete against neighbouring schools in a range of summer and winter sports. The focus is on teamwork, building game-based knowledge and having fun! We are always proud of our school teams which regularly proceed to Division level and beyond, representing our school with sportsmanship and endeavour.

Swimming Program & Carnival
All students at MWNPS participate in our yearly swimming program, which looks to improve students' swimming abilities and supports their safety around water. Our swimming program takes place at Doug Ellis Swimming Centre at Monash University Clayton Campus. Our students in Years 3-6 may compete in the school swimming carnival, from which they may proceed to higher levels of competition.

Athletics Program & Carnivals
Athletics opportunities are afforded through our House Athletics Carnival, where students compete in a wide range of track and field events. Our Physical Education program supports the building of skills in these events prior to the carnival. The school House Cross Country Carnival is a further exciting opportunity for students to run for their house and also represent our school at District level and beyond.
